This was taken verbatim from a co-cure chat group.  My personal experience has shown that bacterial/fungal dysbiosis of the gut can play a strong role in CFIDs as well.  C. difficile is indeed a toxin producer which is consistent with many of the new research findings, such as those being published by Ritchie Shoemaker, at www.biotoxin.info.

I ” had” Fibromyalgia and was accidentally cured and no one will listen - Suggestion for resarch
I
was well on my way to being diagnosed with fibromyalgia by my doctor after 20 years of living in pain. I was deteriorating, and the low grade fevers, diarrhea, and exhaustion drove me to insist that I was sick, really sick. After three office visits and many tests, I began to feel that I was being treated like a hypochondriac and the doctor was starting to become openly disbelieving. After waiting a long time on the third visit, the doctor finally came in and gave me an apology. Seems they found a thriving colony of c-dif bacteria in the latest test results. She kept asking if I had been in the hospital lately. The answer was no. I was given a round of antibiotics that helped some, but did not do the trick. They gave me a much stronger and longer second round of antibiotics and I got much better for a few days. I went back to get more antibiotics when I began to relapse, the doctor refused, and I got very cranky. She relented and I got the antibiotics but she was very unhappy with me. At the end of that round of antibiotics, I was well! And PAIN FREE for the first time in twenty years! That was 19 months ago. Two or three months ago, the chronic pain started again although at a much lower level. I went into denial and ignored the pain (hoping that if I did not face it, it would go away like magic?) as much as possible. About 6 weeks ago, I developed an inner ear infection and went to the doctor for the first time since I had gotten so cranky with her. She gave me the puny antibiotics again and after a week and a half, the ear infection was back. This time she gave me Septra for 14 days. You can guess the end of the story. I feel young, I can get out of a chair without thought, I get up and down off the floor, and I lead a normal, pain free and active. I can do any/every thing I want. There is no pain. It doesn’t even cross my mind.Maybe it could be coincidence that all those symptoms went away the first time I took multiple rounds of antibiotics, but just what are the odds of it happening twice? Without the c-dif infection and then the ear infection, I would still be leading a life of pain filled desperation. Maybe this is not the answer for everyone, but what are the chances that I am the only one?

I am old enough to remember when the medical establishment thought stress was the cause of ulcers. Is it really so hard to believe that the same thing could happen again and that the cause of fibromyalgia is a antibiotic resistant bacteria? Isn’t is at least worth an investigation?
