A New Spin on Omega Fatty Acids
Just about everyone has heard about omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9 fatty acids. Each play an important role in our health. In the US, most people eat a lot of processed grains which are higher in omega 6’s, and not enough fish or certain nuts/seeds which are higher in omega 3’s. This is not necessarly true for people with Chronic Fatigue or other biotoxin related illnesses, and many of which do have fatty acid imbalances but are high in omega 3’s. Omega 9’s are abundent in olives. It is really important to have the right balance of omega3: omega6: omega9’s. At a fundamental level, each of your cell walls is made of a layer of these (and other fatty acids). If you are deficient in one, or more, you can’t expect your cells to function properly. Proper cellular function is paramount to good health.
Another fatty acid most people haven’t heard of is Omega 7. Omega 7, which is found in Sea Buckhorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), consists of both palmitoleic adn cic-vaccenic acids and has been used in Tibetian and Chinese medicine for more than 12 centuries. Scientists believe that our most delicate membranes, such as the skin and the mucous membranes that line the digestive and urogenital tracts have the highest affinity for Omega 7.
I’m back with another update. It’s been 10 more days, I’ve had one more peeling in that area, and the skin tag is completely gone. Over-all, my skin does appear slightly healthier. However, I’m more interested in the beneficial effects it may be having on my other cells but it is too early to tell.
I decided to put this to the test. I took 3 capsules per day of NewChapter SuperCritical Omega 7. Within 3 days, the tissue around my right eye began to swell ever so slightly. At about day 6, a skin tag I had above my right eye, fell off with a sluff of dead skin. The skin in that area sluffed off several times over in the next 10 days. See the video that shows the redness and some of the peeling.
If the omega 7 is doing that much good in my skin, I am sure I have been deficient in other cells as well. I am continuing to take this and will keep you posted.
