I am, and have always been, a firm believer that the body is capable of healing itself. I feel that illness manifests itself when there is imbalance in the mind and/or soul and/or body. Let’s focus on the body. When I first began feeling ill, I, like many others such as yourself, began searching the internet. I was deluged with many different claims of products that could return me to health. I have tried many, many of them. In fact, at last count, I spent well over $25,000 dollars on supplements alone. Much of that was wasted money, but I am very glad to have found several that have made a huge difference for me.
As we all know from the FDA, foods and supplements cannot heal disease, only drugs manufactured by insurance companies can. This baffles me since it is well known that vitamin C can cure scurvy. But I digress. I do agree that drugs have a place in treating disease, but I also feel that by supporting my body with the proper nutrients I can assist my body’s ability to healing itself. I think that in some cases, neutriceuticals can increase the effectiveness of medications. Using a systemic enzyme (i.e bromelain which is derived from pineapples) to break down fibrogen and allow antibiotics and antivirals to access hard to reach tissues is such an example. I also found, that in my case, my digestion was less than optimal, so that no amount of organic vegetables got me better all by themselves. I actually tried that for over a year. Diet modification alone didn’t heal me. That said, supplements alone did not heal me. Medications did not heal me. It took a comprehensive approach to start me on my way back to health.
Somewhere during my supplement experimentation process, I realized I needed to identify what my body was deficient in and what was in my body that shouldn’t be there (toxins). A mineral or vitamin deficiency and/or toxins can suppress the immune system and can result in chronic illness. I was tested using the Metametrix ION test which revealed high levels of oxidation and several vitamin, amino acid and fatty acid deficiencies or imbalances. This was good, now I had something to work with. I started mineral supplementation (Carlson’s Multiple Minerals) and some oral chelation, but did not improve. I knew my digestion was poor and my intuition and testing told me I was not absorbing the nutrients I needed.
At about the same time, I met a wonderful woman named Donna Miller. Donna, who had faced significant health challenges for many years of her life before she got better, had found a line of supplements that she felt had really helped her. I was very sick at the time, and was staying with my parents. She came over to see me, and shared her protocol and success with me. She felt that the core of her program was to support her bodies natural mechanisms to heal. To do that, she used several products marketed by Oasis Life Sciences, which are marketed by a tier marketing program. Initially, I was conservatively optimistic. In front of me sat a very sincere, and clearing loving individual, who was very passionate about several of these supplements. On the other hand, my past experience with mutli-tiered marketing was less than optimal. So she answered all my questions and gave me some free samples to try. She also gave me some literature to read and a book written by one of Oasis Life Sciences Chief Scientists, a fellow by the name of Stephen Cherniske. The science seemed sound, and was along the lines of other recent books I had read. The Oasis products are based on geonomic and proteomic research which as a PhD scientist I was somewhat familiar with. Oasis’s approach is to look for combinations of substances that work synergistically to help support the body. They also offer a 3 month money back deal (how uncommon is that with supplements?). My gut feeling was that I was onto something so I decided to give several products a try. I have never regretted that decision.
I tried a product called Ageless Xtra (if you are interested in ordering or just trying this product, I recommend that you contact Donna Miller, who is super helpful, can provide you with free samples and can assist with setting you up with the lowest cost options), which is very high in antioxidants (it has an ORAC score of about 4500 per ounce, which is one serving). I can’t overstate how much this helped me with my energy, motivation and thinking. The brainfog literally melted away. I still had bad days, but over-all this was wonderful stuff. The only downside is that it contains sorbitol and sucralose (I don’t eat any artificial products) but in this case, the benefits outweight the negatives for me. I also tried a product called Oasis Essentials, which is a nutiritionally dense and easy to digest drink. My digestion was terrible (leaky gut, dysbiosis, etc) so this was really helpful. It has elderberries and aloe vera, along with predigested essential fatty acids (EFA’s) and predigested whey proteins (I was allergic to any milk products but I could tolerate this one). This product (probably the predigested nano-sized particles of EFA and whey proteins) caused a pretty significant detox reaction several times for me. The Essentials is also very high in antioxidants (ORAC of 6300 per serving). I should note that I had pretty strong detox reactions with the Essentials. The Essentials also has natural sugars in it (I had a candida problem as well), so I started with 1/3 of a bottle and over the course of 6 months I worked my way up to a bottle a day. Now, I take 2 bottles per day.
As an experiment, I stopped taking the Essentials and within 2 weeks I started to feel worse again. I restarted it, and within 3 days started to improve so it is clearly providing my body with something it was lacking. I also took an online test that evaluates your memory and brain processing/reaction speed. Before starting the supplements, I scored average (about 100). After 9 months on the products, I scored above average (about 130). I am sure I will score even higher as my body and brain continue to heal.
There is also some interesting clinical reseach going on at Oasis on these products. A quick overview of some research results does indicate pretty dramatic improvements with cognitive function.
I also take the Oasis Aloe Vera, which is a high grade source of glyoprotein (a class of molecules that cells use to communicate) and MediGreens, which are loaded with all sorts of great greens along with L-glutamine (helps the gut lining heal) and inulin (the good bacteria in your gut use this for food). There are many other products that many other people swear by, another of them RegeniCare, helps with joint pain. But these are the ones that I have tried and that I have stuck with and am comfortable sharing how they have helped me. The ones that I really noticed a difference with where the Xtra and the Essentials though.
I still take other supplements as well, but I feel that these have been the most instrumental for me. It took me many months to really notice a difference. On many days, I would double the dose of the Xtra which gives me a lot of antioxidants. I could really feel the difference. High oxidation rates are found in many chronic illnesses. The cause(s) are being researched and many suspect, among other things, heavy metal poisoning of the mitochondria (energy factories for the cells) or chronic infections.
I am not interested in selling or marketing these products myself. However, I feel that they really helped me so I wanted to share this information. If you are interested in learning more about the Oasis products and trying some samples, you can contact Donna Miller by email. She is extremely passionate about these products and is very helpful. If she can’t answer one of your questions, she will find somebody who can. She can also set you up with the lowest cost options as well.
